Hi, I'm Matt Allen. I'm a computer technician at Poorly PCs. We specialise in home and office visits. We are based in Herne Bay and we also cover Whitstable, most of Canterbury and surrounding areas.

Home Visits

We provide home and office visits as standard. With our help, there's no need to disconnect your devices and take them to a shop for repairs. We cover Herne Bay, Whitstable, most of Canterbury, and areas in between (e.g. Blean, Rough Common, Sturry, Hoath, Chislet, Upstreet).

Friendly service

We strive to provide a friendly, professional and affordable service. Most of our clients are home users or novice users, rather than big businesses. We will always explain things clearly using plain English.

Local technicians

Both Matt and Chris live and work in the local area. We keep our area small so that we can provide a consistent service to all our customers. Most of our customers come to us via word-of-mouth and recommendation.

Device setup

We can set up your new desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. We can also help you set up your software, emails and transfer your files. We will even help set up your Internet connection, printer and more.


We can repair most desktop computers and laptops. We can sort out physical faults, overheating issues, laptop screens / keyboards / charging issues and so much more.

Healthchecks / Servicing

If your computer is running slow or isn't quite right, we can give it a healthcheck. We will check for common problems such as overheating, drive failure, viruses, and errors. We will also check that your data is safe and secure.

New PC Advice

With so many computers to choose from (and many that are unsuitable), we can figure out the right spec for you. We don't sell computers, but we can tell you whether a particular device is right for you.


We can check that your device is safe and secure. We can check your Internet connection, device security and antivirus software. We can provide regular checkups or one-off checks.

After-visit support

Our service doesn't have to end when we leave your home. We are happy to provide support, help and advice relating to our visit even when we're done.
